Thaneni was an official of the 18th Dynasty,
serving Tuthmosis III (1479-1425 B.C.). A scribe and
artistic overseer, Thaneni was entrusted with the
inscription of the king's annals, detailing Tuthmosis
III's wars and the beginning of the empire, on the walls
of Karnak. Thaneni's tomb on the western shore of Thebes
gives an account of his deeds and his honors.
