First of four statues of Ramses II.

These colossi of the pharaoh, as was the rest of the temple, were carved out of solid rock. The statues of Ramses II wear the double crown (symbolizing his rule over of upper and lower Egypt) and the characteristic Memes head cloth. On his forehead, the royal Uraeus, protects him against all evil.
